David Cornell studied at the Central School of Art London, and the Academy of Fine Art Philadelphia, USA. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Art, a Fellow of the Royal British Society of Sculptors and was elected Vice President of the Society of Portrait Sculptors in 1977, he also holds many Arts Council Awards.

David has sculpted more official portraits of the British Royal Family than any other sculptor and his work is represented in the Royal Collection and many other private collections throughout the world. He has worked in collaboration with many other distinguished artists including Henry Moore, Pablo Picasso, Manzu, Salvadore Dali, Taro Okamoto and Marc Chagall.

He creates both figurative and abstract art, and his varied subjects range from dancers to racehorses to wild animals. Recent commissions include the first official portrait of Prince William.
