
China Trade Cabinet on Stand
The cabinet with polished top and shallow moulded cornice over a pair of doors with raised fielded panels, indented corners and a pair of embossed brass escutcheons. The doors open to an interior with two polished and adjustable shelves. To the sides a large pair of folding brass carrying handles. The stand with applied moulding to the top accommodates the cabinet and is supported by square tapered legs united by ‘H’ stretchers. All the cabinetwork is of typical Canton high quality and detail as is all the brass hardware and the cabinet features Chinese and western elements.
Oriental hardwood, probably huang huali.
