‘The World’s Greatest City Described by its Best Writers and Pictured by its Finest Photographers’. Published at The Fleetway House, London E.C. 1926 and edited by St. John Adcock. Illustrated with upwards of 1,200 original views reproduced in photogravure. Blue embossed boards with gilt titles to front and spine. Frontispiece to Volume 1 - The Tower of London. Fold out coloured General Plan of London to front, measuring 19” (48.5cm) x 15” (38cm). Each volume in very good condition with unmarked and clean pages, generally tight binding, with minor tanning and light foxing to endpapers and page edges. Lightly rubbed and bruised board corners and spine ends, but very clean and bright copies throughout. 1152 pages in total. A fascinating account of London at the beginning of the 20th century with abundant pictorial evidence.
