Antique Bilston enamel patch box. Oval, the lid having a white ground, transfer printed with the inscription:
‘May glorious Freedom Still Prevail And Trade in England Never fail’
(possibly a reference to the ways in which England was being affected by the Neopoleonic Wars in the very early 1800’s (1803 - 1815). The interior has a mirror to the lid and white enamel to the box, the exterior is of mauve enamel. Some signs of wear, but sound.
