19th century brass mounted mahogany gun case, bearing maker’s label: John Dickson and Son, Gun and Rifle Manufacturers, 63, Princess Street, Edinburgh. The interior is fitted and baize lined. The accompanying leather travelling case with brass plaque engraved: G.Fortune. Attached labels for Midland Railway Dalbeattie, and Glasgow and South Western Railway, London St. Pancreas, plus a paper luggage label inscribed: Morriss Bengairn, Castle Douglas, Scotland.
