Sheffield plate wine cooler by Matthew Boulton, the urn of campana form, the top with detachable collar engraved with red squirrel crests to each side within a moulded border, to the inside the original fitted tole non-removable liner. Engraved armorial crests to the urn are of the Woodgate family impaling Danne, the Woodgates long associated with Tonbridge, their descent from Kentish ancestry. To the sides a pair of reeded carrying handles over a border of vitruvian scroll and gadrooning. Stands upon a circular domed foot with two reeded collars. Bears marks of sunflowers to the underside for the renowned maker, Matthew Boulton of Birmingham.
