Late 19th century Anglo Indian shisham (Indian rosewood) inlaid octagonal table on hinged folding base. Profusely decorated with geometric trailing foliate design and with bone and ebony stringing. Chevron inlay to the border, bone inlay to the legs which are topped by cusped inlaid moorish arches.

Indian, bears maker’s panel: OHRI BROS., Hoshiarpur, (North India), circa 1880 - 1900

Hoshiarpur, in the Punjab, was a centre for the production of these fashionable exotic 'Moorish' style wares as marketed by the likes of Liberty and Tiffany.
