Hardback 4to. ‘Its Form, Colour & History’ in two volumes, each with 100 colour plates. Dark blue cloth, fore and lower edges untrimmed,gilt lettering to front cover and spine. Very good condition with minor wear and scuffing to corners and spine ends and minor marking to covers. Minor bubbling to cover on rear board Vol 2 and front board Vol. 1. Discolouration and light spotting to end papers but remainder relatively clear. Volume 1 missing colour plates 1 & 25, Volume 2 intact. A concise history of English and European furniture written and illustrated by Edwin Foley (1851-1912) a Fellow of the Institute of Designers and a designer for his father’s furniture making company until he moved to London in about 1890.
