Offering a sacrifice during the purification rite, she was required to bring 'a lamb of the first year as a burnt offering and a young pigeon or a turtle dove as a sin offering'. This took place in the Temple of Solomon, Jerusalem, with the doorway to the rear of the painting being Sha'ar HaBechorot - The Gate of Firstborns. In a black moulded frame with gilt slip.
