A fine Georgian mahogany bowfront commode chest, the well-figured top over three drawers, all within cockbeading and with original brass oval plate handles. The central drawer opens to reveal a writing slide, which is adjustable with a ratchet, and a pen tray and ink pots. The swept feet in the French style are united by a frieze of serpentine form.
