Antique 19th century Swiss pine and fruitwood dowry chest or coffre-fort, with strap-work inlay, dog-tooth and geometric mouldings to the front, carved with the initials GR and dated 1662 and with engraved lock. The boarded top with applied mouldings and opens with wrought iron strap hinges to an interior with till box, the lid of which when open can support the lid the chest. The ends are similarly decorated with geometric inlay and applied mouldings.
