19th century red lacquer Pope Joan games board, the revolving wooden top, probably of birch, with Chinese decoration. The border embellished with playing cards and the words ‘Matrimony’, ‘Intrigue’, ‘Game’ within floral border. The central circular pot for gaming counters surrounded by 8 divisions, each decorated with gilt, oriental buildings and trees. Made in China for the English market.
