Rare and antiquarian books: A Study of Medieval Building by W.R.Lethaby. Published London: Duckworth & Co., Henrietta Street, Covent Garden, 1906. An account of the artists, carpenters, sculptors, painters and other craftsmen who built it and decorated it. 124 illustrations throughout, including a frontispiece of King Richard ll, from the portrait attributed to André Beauneveu in Westminster Abbey. Bookplate to front pastedown for the architect Robert Weir Schultz dated 1899 and inscribed by the author, ‘To R W Schultz from WRL Xmas 1906 with love’. Green cloth boards with gilt Royal Arms of England of three lions passant guardant to the front and gilt title and image of fish to spine. Uncut pages. Foxing to frontispiece but tissue intact. Mild fading to spine and upper edge of front board and small scuff to back board, but tight spine, clean pages and a very good+ copy.
