12mo - 5.25” x 8”. 368pp. Full marbled light tan calf with gilt rulers and rosettes to both boards. Gilt tooling to board edges. Five raised bands and gilt decoration and title to the spine. The top board bears the gilt Latin seal ‘sigillum scholae s. martini de Dovoria’ and dated 1870, the original crest for Dover College. Embossed to inside edges of both boards around marbled endpapers. Marbled page edges. Bookplate on front pastedown and awarded to E. B. Smyth in Feb 1908 by the Headmaster, W. C. Compton. Small retailer’s label for Hugh Rees Ltd, 119 Pall Mall to bottom edge of back board.

Condition: Near fine with only very minor shelf wear and light foxing to first few pages front and back. Tight spine and clean pages. Tissue guard to frontispiece clean and intact.
